Paleo Portabella PizzaAt the top of almost everyone’s list of foods they will miss when going Paleo, is pizza. It’s a kid and adult favorite, because well, it’s freaking yummy! It’s also bad for us. Ah, life, why do you do this to us?

My first quest in my Paleo life was finding a pizza alternative, and the portabella pizza was my first answer. I’m not sure where I found it, but it’s been a staple in our household for awhile now. (The photo is actually the first one I ever made, way before I thought I would be blogging about Paleo meals! Clearly you can see why this is not a photography blog. Use your imagination, it’s delicious, I swear!)  I’ve seen lots of other pizza ideas and so I thought I’d do a little round up of all the creative ways we can make pizza for the family.

Zucchini Pizzas

I don’t know about you, but our family is hooked on zucchini. We use it for pasta, chips, stuff it with all kinds of Paleo goodness, and more. So of course I was thrilled to see a Pizza Stuffed Zucchini Boat. After school snacks are always a hot topic in our household, especially during sports seasons when we are forced to eat late due to practices and games. Finding these handy Zucchini Pizza Bites helped fill the never ending, what can I have for a snack?

Stuffed Peppers

Here is where I need to apologize to my parents, and myself. Because, seriously, stuffed peppers are the bomb. Why did I spend my entire childhood refusing to try them? Pizza Stuffed Peppers? Say no more, I’m there.

Traditional Pizza Crust

Sometimes you just want something doughy. Sometimes you have a little extra time to prepare dinner. Sometimes you can convince your husband to do all the work. That’s when you whip out a fabulous Paleo Pizza Dough.

There you have it! I’ll definitely be working on more easy pizza ideas, including a sweet potato pizza, avocado and maybe an eggplant version. Yum!
